TECHNICAL

Can I host if I don't own a dog?
No. This network is for dog-owners only.  We want to provide members the peace of mind that the homes are dog-proofed & dog-friendly.

Do I have to take care of other dogs?
Yes.  If your dog is being cared for overnight, then it is your responsibility to watch other members’ dogs.  Rovernight Network will track the number of nights your dog was a guest and the number of nights that you hostedother  dogs.  The member oath states that you will do your best to watch other dogs just as much or more than your dog is being watched.

How do I get credit for an overnight?
You earn credit when  you host an overnight or your dog’s an overnight guest. To get credit, be sure to  complete a Rover Report after each overnight engagement. The first member of the overnight engagement to fill out a Rover Report will prompt another Rover Report to be sent to the other member.  The other member will then confirm the number of nights and submit their completed report.

What other benefits do members get besides overnight care?
Each week members will be offered a Weekly Rover Deal.  This will typically be a pet related deal good for members only.  We encourage you to check the site often to take advantage of these deals.

What cities are you in?
Currently we are in Chicago and the Twin Cities.  We are currently considering other markets.  If you would like Rovernight Network in your area, please let us know.

Can I start a network in my town?
We are currently considering other markets.  If you would like Rovernight Network in your areaplease let us know.

Can I get a refund if I don't like the service?
There are several payment options members can choose from of which payments are done upfront.  At the end of your membership term you will automatically be billed monthly while having the option to prepay (and pay less) at any time.  If at any time you are not happy with your membership, we will cancel your membership and cancel any further billing.  .

What if I live farther away from where most members live?
How far would you drive for your dog to be super happy when you are out of town?  Most members are more concerned with quality of care than convenience.

What if my dog takes medication?
The network is a perfect place to find other dogs that have special needs so you can feel comfortable with their owner's ability to give shots & provide medication.

What if my dog is ill and I need to go out of town?
You can use the network to find a member that will take your sick dog. Please be sure to provide the caretaker with written instructions regarding the care your dog needs, including detailed medication administration information and your vet’s name and phone number.

How do I communicate with other members?
Rovernight Network provides members with an internal email system to email & communicate with other members.  Personal email addresses & phone numbers are never displayed or made public.  It is up to the members to communicate outside our email system.

Can I keep track of which members I prefer & don’t prefer?

You can keep track of the members you wish to contact in Your Back Yard; this allows easy access and  communication.  For dogs and dog owners that you prefer to avoid, you place them in My Dog House.  Categorizing members allows you to search using these parameters when you are looking for overnight care.

What is My Back Yard?
My Back Yard is an area in your member profile that allows you to easily access members that you communicate most often or wish to contact in the future for engagements.  The status is known only to you; other members are unaware of whether they are in your Back Yard or not.

What is My Dog House?
My Dog House is a status you can put on another member if you do not care for them (maybe your dogs don't play well together).  This feature allows members to do searches without their My Dog House members showing in the search results.  The status is known only to you; other members are unaware of whether they are in your Dog House or not.

How do I find members that live close to me?
When you do a member search, the results will appear from closest to farthest.

How do I know who to trust in the network?

This network's foundation is based on member feedback.  Member profiles will feature feedback from all members someone has done an overnight engagement with.  It is from this feedback, their profile information, your communication and in-person meetings that you can just who you feel comfortable with.

How do I know if my dog will get along with other member's dogs?
Rovernight Network will be hosting member play dates for members and their dogs to sniff each other out.  Please see our Play Dates page.  You can also arrange to meet members on your own to see if they play well together.

How is the rating calculated?
The member ratings are calculated by the Rover Reports that other members complete.  In order for a host member (or guest member) to get overnight credit, Rover Reports must be completed.

If I take care of a dog overnight, do I have to use its owner to take care of my dog?
You are not obligated to use any members, even if you have used them for overnights before.  The benefit to the network is that you have an entire community of dog owners to communicate with regarding overnight care.

Will my dog be kenneled all day?  How will I know how often my dog has interaction?
This is something that should be discussed between members when deciding on whom to work with.

What happens if my dog pees on a host’s rug, damages their property or bites another dog or a person while under the responsibility of the host?
It is up to the two involved parties to resolve any mishaps that occur due to members’ dogs’ behavior.

What if my dog is injured by a host's dog?

It is up to the two involved parties to resolve any mishaps that occur from the dog's behavior.
